Preparing For Your Visit

We strive to make your visit with us pleasant, informative and helpful to you and your loved ones.  We have created a list of items and suggestions to facilitate your visit, please read the information and if you have any questions feel free to contact us.

  • If you are being seen at St. Joseph's Health Care, be sure to check in at the reception desk inside the Ivey Eye Institute.
  • Please allow ample time for your visit. Initial consultations usually take between 60-90 minutes. Return appointments are typically shorter but may take 30-60 minutes to complete.
  • Be sure to bring along:

-your current and valid health card

-a list of any current prescription medications you are taking

-if you wear glasses please bring your most recent pair

  • A driver is required for each initial consultation and recommended for all other appointments, your pupils will likely be dilated.
  • We encourage you to bring a friend or relative to your appointments, this will help you with movement throughout the office if needed, and may help you better understand your eye condition and any treatments that are required or recommended.
